My morning started off by wanting to hit the snooze button instead of heading out for my 5 mile training run on the calendar for today. I am certainly a fan of the cooler temps, but often my snugly bed makes me want to sleep in instead. BUT no time for that this week as I must get all my runs done to build my endurance and distance.
As I got ready to head out, I grabbed my cold weather gear which included my new Headsweats Thermal Headband which I really loved! It kept my ears warm without making me feel overheated and helped keep my earbud snug in my ear for those chilly 5 miles. I’ll certainly be ordering another one to put in the Winter gear rotation!
I also got a chance to try out my new Impulse light from Princeton Tec which that the Hubs picked up for me on a event trip we made to our favorite local gear shop, Trail & Ski! It’s lightweight and interchangeable to clip onto a visor or hat or you can clip it onto your shirt or belt for quick easy access. This morning I used it in dark spots on the sidewalks and as I entered intersections to be sure drivers were aware I was in the crosswalk. PERFECT!
Tomorrow morning is slated to be another chilly morning here in North Florida and I’ll be hitting the pavement again for more training miles! I’m excited to know that these two gear items will be there waiting for me to help make it another awesome training run!
I want to hear from you! What are some of your favorite ‘gear’ items that you use on runs? Share with me in the comments!
