While we were searching for healthier snack options on our vacation, I was desperate for something with some amazing flavor and a little less junk in the ingredients. What I found in one of the Yellowstone National Park village markets was just that! A little crunchy, a little salty, a little spicy and just enough to get me past an overwhelming junk food craving. Let’s just say, I probably ended up buying a case of these little bags of goodness ultimately over the course of our trip! I even took it so far as to pair them with some natural salsa we picked up at a Community Coop in Steamboat Springs, CO! My flavor of choice at that time was the Sweet Chili Tortilla Chip.
When we arrived home and I took a look at our local grocery stores and health food stores, I was sad to see my go-to vacation snack option was not available locally. So I reached out to the brand to see if I could get more of this amazing treat and I was obliged with a full box of all 6 varieties of their tortilla chip line! SCORE!

This weekend while my oldest stepson was home from college for the holiday weekend he requested some healthy snack options. I opted to make my homemade guacamole and a new recipe concept that I wanted to try, black bean hummus. I paired them with the Unbeatable Blues and the Black Bean Tortilla Chips and they were gone in a flash! I love the great flavor that their chips offer and they never overpower the options I choose to pair them with, and if you eat them by themselves, they have that perfect satisfying flavor to leave you satiated and not feeling like you have a belly full of greasy chips!
Here is my super simple recipe for the Black Bean Hummus I made –
- 1 can organic Black Beans with 1/2 of the juice
- 1 can organic Garbanzo Beans, drained
- 4 whole cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Badia Complete Seasoning
- Salt/Pepper to taste
Directions – Combine all ingredients in food processor or blender until smooth. Transfer to bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Great as a snack or condiment replacement.
